Job Fair
I attended the Job Fair at CSUSM on Thursday October 4th. As soon as I walked up to the first booth, I was immediately acknowledged and engaged in what their booth had to offer. I’ve been to other Job Fairs, but not as active and lively as it was on Thursday. I continued to talk with a handful of companies. Luckily, I brought a lot of copies of my resume because the first booth I approached actually asked for my resume. The booth was the ADS organization, which represents the Advanced Diabetes Supply. I have always wanted to be involved in helping people and I immediately walked to this booth when I got on campus. It was perfect because the spokeswoman for her booth was interested in offering me a summer internship!
The next booth I went towards was the Ross Careers for their multiple stores. The woman speaking for Ross also gave me a lot of information for applying for the holiday season. Soon after that I went to the Target booth and was offered the same opportunity for working soon. My roommate and I then went to the Army Reserve booth; mainly to seek information about their loans and scholarships. The soldier representing the booth was very helpful and really funny! It was easy to start up a conversation.
The last two booths I visited were Teri- Campus of Life and Voter Registration. Teri is an incorporation that specifies in helping mentally retarded children. After TERI, I visited the Voter Registration booth to change my resident statuses for the different counties because I want to vote in the San Diego District.
Just as I was about to leave (literally walking away from the tents), two people walk up to me and introduce themselves as the Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister employers and asked me to be the welcoming model in front of their store! I have an interview on this Friday, October 12th. So, my experience at the Job Fair was great!
