The Second Annual Polynesian
Festival was so much fun! There were so many booths to visit while the
Polynesian Dancers performed. I went with my roommates and other friends from
our GEL class. Some of us took pictures at the Free Photo Booth set up. There was
also free food, that I did not get, because the line was really long.
The
Dancing part of this festival was the most powerful because dancing is a way
Polynesians express their culture and religious beliefs of their ancestry. Each
chant and certain step you make to create a sound has a different meaning that
can be depicted through the dancing. After watching this dancing and chanting
part, I had to go to a class soon after the festival.
